What Spooksconsin is

A free, seasonal directory of Halloween and fall attractions and official trick-or-treat hours across central Wisconsin. It answers one question well: what can I do tonight or this weekend near me, at the scare level that fits my group?

How listings get here

We seed listings by hand from what attractions publish themselves, and anyone can submit one. Every submission is checked before it goes live. Operators can claim their listing and keep its hours, prices and tonight's status up to date.

Trick-or-treat hours

Municipal hours come only from an official source — the municipal website, a municipal or police department post, or a local news article quoting the municipality — and we show which source and when we last checked it. We never publish hours from hearsay. If hours have not been announced yet, we say so rather than guessing, and show last year's as a greyed-out hint.

Reviews

Reviews need a verified email address. The star rating goes live as soon as the email is verified; written reviews wait for a quick check. Operators can respond publicly to a review, but they can never delete one or see a reviewer's email address.

Money

A few clearly labelled local sponsors keep the site free. Payment never affects ratings, review moderation, sort order or filter results, and there are no programmatic display ads. See our guidelines for the full rules, or the sponsorship page if you run a local business.

Hours and prices change, sometimes on the night. Always check with the attraction before you drive out.
