Guidelines
Review, listing and sponsorship rules
Reviews
- One review per person per attraction per season. Submitting again edits your existing review.
- Your email is verified before anything posts, and is never shown or shared.
- Write about your own visit. No naming individual staff members, no threats, no slurs.
- We reject reviews that are really about something else — a parking ticket, the weather, a rival business.
- We can redact part of a review rather than reject it; we say when we have.
- Operators can respond publicly once per review and can flag one for another look. They cannot delete reviews.
Listings
- Listings are free, for every attraction, forever.
- Submissions are checked before they go live. We merge duplicates rather than running two pages.
- Hours, prices and scare levels should be what a visitor will actually encounter.
- Trick-or-treat hours require a link to an official announcement. No source, no listing.
- Operators can claim a listing by proving they control a channel it already points to.
Sponsorship
- Every paid placement is labelled "Sponsor" or "Featured".
- Payment never affects ratings, review moderation, organic sort order or filter results.
- We approve sponsor logos and copy before they go live.
- Alcohol-related sponsors are not shown on trick-or-treat pages or kid-audience filtered views.
- No programmatic display ads.
Content
The default pages are built so a five-year-old and their grandparent are both comfortable. Level 3 imagery stays small — a badge and an icon, never a full-page illustration — and there are no jump scares, flashing or sudden sounds anywhere on the site.
